Having lived on the Texas Gulf Coast since 2000, we've experienced Tropical Storm Allison and Hurricane Rita. Allison left Houston under 36 inches of water and Rita freaked out 2 million people, all trying to leave town at the same time.
We cannot, however, forget Katrina. Friday (08/29) is the third anniversary of this travesty of both nature and justice. While Houston didn't miss a beat getting back to business-as-usual nor will the coast of Florida, I suspect; New Orleans is still a battleground of bureacracy and blight.
