How quickly life can pass us by. In our youth it feels as if we have an eternity to accomplish the many fleeting things that pass through our naïve imagination. The places we will see, the jobs we will have, the great feats that we will conquer. Yet, for far too many of us, the dreams of our youth are never realized.
We fixated only on the future with little regard to the singularly most powerful tool we had at our disposal. Then, in the blink of an eye, we are struck with the realization that the fervor of our youth has been lost somewhere along our chosen path. Sadly, for many of us, this becomes the new topic of our obsession: what could have been, what should have been, what will never be.
There is something to be said for the naiveté of youth, however... the world, viewed through the lens of choice and commitment. In youth our goals were only limited by the amount of effort with which we chose to pursue them, our accomplishments bound only by our dedication to achieve them.
